Four females collaborating at a round tableThe study of Marketing involves the changing needs of commerce and promotion, and the creation of products and services designed to meet those needs. Marketing includes sales, advertising, promotion, retail management, marketing research, pricing, physical distribution, new product introduction, branding, international business, and e-commerce.

The Marketing major at WSU Vancouver prepares students for a career in professional sales. Professional sales is the most common entry level position for marketing majors. Here at WSU Vancouver we provide an integrated program of study uniquely designed with courses in professional sales, sales management, negotiations, and business to business marketing.

  • Mktg 495 [M] Marketing Management

Four electives (two must be Mktg & one must be an [M] course)

  • 300 or 400 Level Mktg Elective
  • 300 or 400 Level Mktg Elective
  • 300 or 400 Level Business Elective [GL]
  • 300 or 400 Level Business Elective

Admissible 300 or 400 level courses may not include courses from the Business Administration core, courses used to satisfy the required Mktg courses, or Mktg 498 or 499 courses.

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, students will have the knowledge to be able to:

Core Business Knowledge and Skills: Apply qualitative and quantitative business skills to solve business problems.

Global Perspective: Compare and contrast different economic systems and appreciate cultural differences and their impact on business practices.

Social/Environmental/Ethical Awareness: Evaluate a business ethical dilemma and propose a socially/environmentally acceptable solution considering the implications of multiple stakeholders.

Effective Communication: Organize and express themselves coherently, ably, and professionally.
